Starting with four verified ancestors
Establishing the starting group, testing names and dates, and recording the sources behind every relationship.
See how names become verified relationships, how gaps are identified and how the scope changes as each generation opens new questions.
This journal will follow a real family line from a small, verified starting point. Each entry will explain which records were used, why a relationship was accepted, where uncertainty remains and what the next search needs to answer.
It will also show what a defined piece of family-tree research can contain: not simply names in boxes, but citations, reasoning and a clear account of what the evidence can—and cannot—support.
The trail will begin with four carefully checked ancestors, then widen to eight and onward through successive generations. Where a paternal line is unknown, I will show the proven maternal branch, mark the gap honestly and explain which clues might reopen it.
Later entries can examine contemporary tracing and the additional care required when a search may involve living people, privacy and records that are not properly public.
Research services remain closed while the site and journal are developed ahead of launch.
